In the Balneological Museum in Piešťany there are rare artifacts coming from Roman times, which were found in near village Krakovany. Just 40 km far from Piešťany, in the town Trenčín (originally named Laugaricio) there is a Roman inscription coming from the year 179 at castle rock massif an – authentic evidence that the Roman legions used to be there.
